Hope and Comfort
Hope and Comfort provides essential hygiene products to support and improve the health, self-esteem, and hygiene education of school-aged children and young adults in need within Greater Boston. They do this by distributing soap, toothpaste, deodorant, and other personal care products to organizations throughout the area that serve children and families. There are several ways to get involved including holding a hygiene product collection drive and creating well-wish cards to go to youth alongside hygiene kits. For more info, email pflaherty@hopeandcomfort.org or call their office at (617) 795-1608. http://hopeandcomfort.org/ |
Donate.
DONATE. (emphasis on the period!) is an organization Haley created in her sophomore year of high school. They collect and distribute pads and tampons to a local food pantry, A Place To Turn, in Natick. DONATE. has continued to grow and give more and more products to women and teen girls in need every week. https://www.onceamonthgiving.com/ |
Fresh Truck
We love Boston and we’ve been committed to making it a healthier city since 2O13. It all started while Josh was working as a health educator at the MGH Charlestown Healthcare Center. He kept hearing from his families that it was difficult to shop for healthy food — at that time, the only grocery store in the neighborhood was set to be shut down for a year-long renovation. It was this experience and some in-depth research that inspired Fresh truck to rethink the traditional grocery store model, make it mobile and bring it to the people that need it the most. Now with two mobile markets on the road every day we are hearing stories of kids trying their first sweet potato and families preparing meals together. We have a big vision for the future of food and healthcare, and we are only just getting started. https://www.freshtruck.org/about-us/ |
